PDW : Beyond Building Book

Books & Print  |  Corporation

For a veteran architect bureau as seasoned as PDW Architects—to stroll around their vast amount of projects archive is far from an easy task. At 2017, Mr. Danisworo asked us to design a book, consisting of his bureau’s achievements, project portfolios, and his theories regarding the connection between architecture, human and the environment in an inter-tangled mutual relationship dynamics.

SANROK took part in the whole book design, editing, interviews, write and the producing of the book.

Architecture : Beyond Building is an attempt to redefine Architecture from the eyes of arguably the best urban planner in Indonesia, Muhammad Danisworo. In his eyes, architecture doesn’t stop on the shape of the building—but span vastly around other dimension of practice.

Through architecture, one could have a solution over humanity, environment and other sustainability issues.

Team Notes
“How would you act if you found yourself challenged by a legend to make not only an archive of his achievements, but essentially, a memento to pass on an important legacy to the younger generations? Exactly. Nerve-wrecking. For a 30 months of closer look at PDW’s project we can’t help but to felt deep admiration to Mr. Danisworo and his team. On how would they tackle conscientious issues and how they solve it at the same time. And foremost, how brilliant is he and his team both on theory and on practice. A truly remarkable, once in a lifetime experience for our team.”
